The manual focus laser head is laser equipment with a rotary adjustment ring, allowing precise control of the focal position to optimize metal laser cutting machine performance.
The lens offers a 20mm travel range, and the focus position should be confirmed before each cutting operation.
At the factory, the “Zero Focus” is preset to align view window “0” with scale ring “0”.
Scale and Focus Relationship:
Focus adjustment range: +8 to -12
When the scale is 0, the focus is located at the nozzle tip.
When the scale is +8, the focus is positioned 8mm inside the nozzle.
Focus Position and Cutting Effect:
Zero Focus: The laser focus is on the surface of the sheet metal. Suitable for general plate cutting. The upper edge is smooth, while the lower edge may be slightly rough.
Positive Focus: The laser focus is slightly above the sheet surface. Ideal for carbon steel cutting. It provides a wider kerf, requires higher gas flow, and results in slightly longer piercing time.
Negative Focus: The laser focus is below the sheet surface. Recommended for stainless steel, copper, and aluminum. When cutting with high-pressure argon, it effectively reduces slag adhesion and produces cleaner,
smoother cuts.
