To ensure the long-term stable operation of Foster Laser fiber laser cutting equipment and to maintain optimal performance of the laser source and cutting system, please strictly follow the
chiller maintenance and care guidelines outlined below.
FIRST Summer Maintenance Guidelines (Cooling & Dust Prevention)
In high-temperature summer environments, the cooling performance of the chiller directly affects the stability of the fiber laser source.
It is recommended to clean the condenser and dust filter of the chiller approximately every 15 days to remove accumulated dust.
Maintaining proper ventilation and effective heat dissipation helps prevent high-temperature alarms and ensures continuous, efficient operation of Foster Laser metal laser cutting
SECOND inter Anti-Freeze Measures (Low-Temperature Operation & Shutdown)
1. Anti-Freezing Procedures During Transportation or Long-Term Shutdown
When the laser equipment is transported or remains out of service for an extended period, drainage must be performed in advance:
Open the drain valve to completely empty the water from the chiller tank;
Loosen the drain plug at the bottom of the water pump to discharge any residual water inside the pump, preventing internal component damage caused by freezing.
2. Protection During Low-Temperature Operation (Ambient Temperature Below 2°C at Night)
When the ambient temperature drops below 2°C at night, it is recommended to keep the system running continuously or add antifreeze (ethylene glycol) as required.
Please refer to Table 1 for the appropriate ethylene glycol mixing ratio. The selected antifreeze freezing point should be approximately 5°C lower than the actual operating ambient temperature.
When the average daily temperature remains above 5°C, promptly replace the antifreeze mixture with softened water, purified water, or deionized water to ensure long-term cooling system
stability.
THIRD Procedure for Replacing Antifreeze with Purified Water
When replacing antifreeze in the chiller with purified or deionized water, proceed as follows:
1.Open the drain valve and completely drain all antifreeze from the chiller;
2.Close the drain valve, add purified water or deionized water through the filling port, and power on the unit to circulate the system, diluting any remaining antifreeze;
3.Drain the water again through the drain valve;
4.Repeat Steps 2–3 two to three times to ensure all antifreeze residue is thoroughly removed;
5.Finally, refill with purified or deionized water until the level reaches the green zone on the chiller level indicator.
FOURTH Daily Maintenance and Operation Notes
During routine maintenance of Foster Laser fiber laser cutting equipment, any abnormal wear or damage found in the chiller or related components must be replaced promptly.
Regular and standardized maintenance not only extends the service life of the chiller and laser source but also ensures stable power output and optimal cutting quality of the fiber laser cutting
machine.
